Of course you can also use the thunder whip to run like Usain Bolt and leave him in the dirt, but even with it don't assume you'll never be bothered by him, especially if you try to go for chests.
While never impenetrable, the frame rate suffers noticeably, and sometimes proves the difference between thrilling success and devastating failure, given the game’s emphasis on quick reactions.
No ability in this game has any kind of detrimental effect on your run, and just because I consider an ability to be lower tier does not mean that I wouldn't ever pick it up -- however, I personally tend to prioritize my blessings based on the following ranks:
Phantom Abyss is a massive asynchronous multiplayer game that casts players into procedurally-generated temples and tasks them with retrieving the sacred relics hidden within deadly chambers. I couldn’t go back, or around the gigantic flaming monster, so I Phantom Abyss Game was quickly gobbled up and sent back to the very beginning to try it all over again. These untimely restarts, combined with the lengthy load times, made completing Phantom Abyss
It’s fast and fluid, its controls are sharp, and it knows exactly what kind of game it wants to be. It’s also lean as hell and doesn’t waste a second of your time, which I mightily respect.
